This is a stunningly handsome, mid century modern, wall hanging grandfather clock! A 1960s George Nelson, Howard Miller, lucite and chrome wall clock with a bim bam chime on the original brass movement. Chimes at the top of the hour, and half hour. Check out our video to hear! Fully tuned up movement, and detailed case. White hour hand, red minute hand, clear lucite all around, mirrored background, chrome weights, chains, and pendulum set this very well cared for classic off. Just pull the chains down to raise the weights, runs a full week hung at just above eye level. Currently running and keeping excellent time. I have not seen another one, in this great of condition, sell over the last handful of years. You will be the envy of everybody who passes by this stunner!
This was one of more than 150 clocks designed by George Nelson for Howard Miller Clock Company. Nelson Associates first launched in New York City as a studio in 1947. Employing some of the most celebrated designers of the time. Including Irving Harper, Don Ervin, Arthur Umanoff, and Charles Pollock, all of whom contributed to clock designs.
Clock hangs on wall with one bolt in a stud, or a molly bolt/toggle in sheet rock. If needed, we can supply. A heavy duty hanger and rubber bumpers keep it firmly in place. Easy to set-up! We are happy to walk you thru that process as well. If purchased locally, we can come out, hang, and set-up for you. This is a vintage mechanical unit, needing a routine cleaning, every 5-7 years to insure proper time keeping, and reduce the chance of wear. If you have any additional questions, please don’t hesitate to ask. There are no dumb questions! We want you to be happy with your purchase, and feel comfortable using it!
